In the Items & Configuration step, you first choose between Monument and Service at the top. This article covers the monument path. For services, see How to Create a Service Order.
Monument Type
[Screenshot: Monument Type section showing all 8 options]
Select the type of monument for this order:
Upright — traditional upright monument.
Bevel Marker — flat marker with beveled edge.
Slant Marker — angled face marker.
Flat Marker — ground-level marker.
Bronze Marker — ground-level bronze marker.
Bench Memorial — memorial bench.
Custom Memorial — custom design.
Below the type selection, you'll see a toggle called This order includes a base. Turn it on or off to show or hide all base-related fields throughout the form. If you select Flat Marker or Bronze Marker, this toggle automatically switches to No (since these types do not use a separate base), and the front and back finish fields are hidden. Bronze Marker also hides the lettering style and litho color fields.
Good to know: Each order can only contain one monument. If your customer needs multiple stones (for example, a headstone and a separate flat marker), create a separate order for each one. As a workaround, you can select Custom Memorial as the monument type and describe all items in the Order Notes field at the bottom of this step.
Materials & Color
[Screenshot: Upright Color grid showing all stone color options with one selected]
Select the color of the headstone. The label changes based on the monument type you selected (for example, "Upright Color" or "Flat Marker Color"). Hover over any color to see a preview of the stone's texture and appearance. Click See More at the bottom to view additional colors.
To add a custom color, click the Add Color button at the top right of the color selection. Type the color name (for example, "Blue Pearl") and click Save. Custom colors always appear at the top of the selection and will be available every time you open or edit an order. The system will try to match a swatch to the name you entered.
To change the swatch image, hover over the color and click the camera icon that appears. Upload your own color texture, and it will show as the preview whenever you search for or hover over that color.
To remove a custom color, hover over it and click the X button at the top right. Click Yes to confirm. This will not affect existing orders that already use this color.
Under Base Color, you have two choices:
Match Headstone Color — the base will use the same material as the upright.
Choose Different Color — select a specific color for the base from the same color grid.
Finish & Polish

Each side of the monument has its own dropdown where you can select Polished, Steeled, Sawn, Honed, or Rock Pitched.
Upright Finishes — set the Front, Back, Top, and Edges finish individually, or use the shortcut buttons:
P2 — front polished, back polished, top and edges rock pitched.
P3 — front polished, back polished, top polished, edges rock pitched.
P5 — all sides polished.
S2 — front steeled, back steeled, top and edges rock pitched.
S3 — front steeled, back steeled, top steeled, edges rock pitched.
S5 — all sides steeled.
Base Finishes — set each side individually, or click PFT/BRP to set front rock pitched, back rock pitched, top polished, and edges rock pitched.
Polished Margin — toggle this on and enter how many inches the polished margin should be.
Subbase — toggle this on to add a separate fully polished (P5) subbase that stacks on top of the base.
Physical Properties
[Screenshot: Physical Properties section showing all dimension fields with the inches/feet toggle]
At the top right of this section, you can switch between in (inches) and ft-in (feet and inches). Whatever you type in inches can auto-translate to feet-inches.
Enter the dimensions for:
Upright Dimensions — Length, Thickness, and Height.
Base Dimensions — Length, Width, and Thickness.
Subbase Dimensions — Length, Width, and Thickness (only visible if subbase is turned on).
Foundation Dimensions — Length and Width. You can also toggle on Foundation = Granite if the foundation is granite instead of concrete.
Note: These dimensions are used to calculate cemetery fees automatically if the cemetery you selected has fee calculation turned on. See How Cemetery Fee Calculation Works for details.
Order Notes

At the bottom of the monument configuration, you can add Order Notes with any special instructions or requirements. These notes are attached to the order and visible in the order overview.
You can also click Add Files under Upload Reference Files to attach photos, PDFs, or sketches. These are automatically attached to the order.
