To create your account, head over to app.monudesk.com or visit monudesk.com and click the Sign Up button at the top of the page.

What you need to enter

Signup takes three short screens:

  1. Create your account: your first and last name, your email and a password, and tick that you agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

  2. Your company: your company name, phone and Company address. Start typing the street address and pick it from the suggestions, so MonuDesk gets the zip code ("Pick your address from the list so we get the zip code."). Your address, zip code and city are then already filled in on Settings > Company Profile. Your address also sets your currency: a company in Germany, Austria or Switzerland prices its quotes and orders in euros (€), and every other company prices in dollars ($). A company in Germany, Austria or Switzerland also starts with the German stone list and with its national VAT rate as the Sales Tax % (Germany 19%, Austria 20%, Switzerland 8.1%), with Automatic Tax Calculation switched off. Its invoices are numbered in one company-wide series with the prefix RE (RE-00001). Every other company's invoices carry the order number plus a counter, such as ORD-53-1.

  3. Verify & finish: we email you a 6-digit verification code. Type it in and click Verify & Complete Setup.

Tip: Check your spam or junk folder if you don't see the verification code within a minute.

Your welcome setup and plan

Next, a welcome window walks you through three quick steps. If you leave part way, it picks up where you left off.

  1. Who works with you? Pick Just me, or Add my team and enter each person's email and role (Add another person for more). Each one gets an invite by email. If you come back to this step, everyone you invited is listed under Already invited, with an X to remove them.

  2. Add your first cemetery: its full name and address, then Add cemetery. Not ready? Click Skip for now. If you come back to this step later, your cemetery is still filled in, and Save changes updates it rather than adding a second one.

  3. What shows on top of each order card? Pick The deceased, The purchaser, The cemetery or The order number, with a preview of the card as you choose. You can change this any time in Settings.

Then you choose your plan. The plan screen opens on Yearly, marked 2 months free, with a Monthly option: MonuDesk Basic is $149 a month, or $129 a month billed yearly, and MonuDesk Pro is $299 a month, or $249 a month billed yearly. Each plan includes 1 user; each extra user is $10 a month, or $100 a year on yearly billing. On Pro, Start my 7-day free trial takes you to a secure checkout: nothing is charged today, and you only pay if you keep it after day 7. On Basic, Choose Basic is paid today.

If you invited people, each card's price already includes them, with a line such as "Includes $20 a month for 2 extra users.", so the price on the card is the price at checkout. Change team next to that line takes you back to the team step: click the X next to someone under Already invited and the price drops straight away. Picking Just me there does not remove anyone; a note tells you how many people are still invited and count as extra users until you remove them.

You then land on your Order Management board with two demo orders, Alice Doe and John Jones, and a note reading These are your two demo orders. Open them, move them between stages and try anything. Got it hides the note and keeps them; Remove demo orders takes those two orders off your board and nothing else. If you sign up in German, your demo orders are German ones instead: Erika Mustermann and Petra Beispiel, at the sample cemetery Musterfriedhof, with sizes in whole centimetres.

What to do next

Once you're in, we recommend setting up four things:

  • Invite your team so everyone has access from day one

  • Add your cemeteries in Settings so they're ready when you create your first real order

  • Add your vendors in Settings for the same reason

  • Bring your lists over if you keep them in a spreadsheet: cemeteries, vendors, contacts and open orders can be imported in Settings > Import

  • Set your own preferences in Settings > Profile, the first entry in the Settings menu: which notifications reach your phone and whether MonuDesk signs you out after a period of inactivity. The screen language is one setting for the whole company, in Settings > Company Profile > Language

The demo orders on your board are there to help you get familiar with MonuDesk before you start entering real data.

Two more things help you along. A Shop Setup checklist on the right edge of the screen walks you through the rest of your setup and ticks each step off as you do it, and your Dashboard starts with two tasks from MonuDesk: Watch the 2-min Monucademy intro and Create your first quote.
