How to Use the Order Summary
Read your orders and revenue as a pivot, with stages across the top and cemetery, county, city or contact down the side, and print what you filtered.

The Order Summary is the bird's eye view of every order in your business, laid out as a table with stages across the top and a category you choose (cemetery, county, city, or contact) down the side. Each cell shows how many orders sit in that intersection. Use it to spot bottlenecks, see how much revenue is sitting in your quotes pipeline, and understand at a glance where the money is in your business.
Find it in Insights → Order Summary. This page is a Pro feature, on the Pro plan or during a Pro trial. Opening it takes you straight to the report, with no intro screen to click through first. On Basic and Legacy the report loads with its top rows visible and a PRO FEATURE card over it, headed Order Summary, "Every dollar in the pipeline, by stage.", with three benefits, the price and one button: Start 7-day free trial, or Upgrade to Pro, which opens Settings → Billing with the MonuDesk Pro card highlighted. On Basic the report under the card is a look-only preview: working with the table and Print come with Pro.
The Search box in the filter row slices the table down to the orders that match. It starts filtering at two characters. A purchaser's first or last name matches from the start of what you typed; order number, decedent name, cemetery, stone color, monument type, the words Monument or Service, email and phone match anywhere. It is the fastest way to find one customer in a busy list, and it is especially handy with wholesale accounts, where you can search a wholesaler's name to pull up all of their orders and order values at once.
How the table works
The columns are your stages, in the order you've configured them (Draft, Quote, In Production, Scheduled, Installed, and any custom stages you've added). The rows are whatever you set Group by to: County, City, Cemetery (the default) or Contact. Each cell shows the count of orders at that intersection of category and stage.
Click any number to open the list of orders behind it. For example, if the table shows 13 at the intersection of Rosehill Cemetery and the In Production stage, clicking that 13 opens the list of those 13 orders so you can drill into any of them.
Click a cemetery's name in the first column to open that cemetery and edit it without leaving the page, its Contacts included (the primary contact first, then any additional contacts, then Add contact). Grouped by County, a county's name opens that county.
The stage columns grow with your workflow, so the table scrolls sideways inside its own card instead of pushing the whole page across. The row label stays pinned on the left, the Total and Revenue columns stay pinned on the right, and the header row and the grand-total row at the bottom stay put while you scroll, so the money stays readable however far across the stages you go.
Show revenue instead of counts
Set Show to Revenue to see dollar amounts in each cell instead of order counts. Revenue mode shows the total revenue for that intersection as the main number, with the order count as a small label underneath. This is the fastest way to answer the question "how much money is sitting in my quotes section right now?" or "which cemetery is bringing in the most revenue this quarter?"
Add row details
The Details dropdown adds names to the table. Three options:
None (default): keeps the table compact, just the numbers.
Purchaser: shows each customer name under the row.
Decedent: shows each decedent name under the row.
Pick a detail mode when you want to scan names without opening every order one by one.
Filters
The filter row above the table holds every control, combined with AND logic:
Group by: County, City, Cemetery or Contact. This also sets the first column of the table.
Show: Counts or Revenue.
Details: None, Purchaser or Decedent.
Order type: All Types, Monument or Service. Monument leaves out orders that carry a service, Service keeps only those.
Wholesale: All, Retail or Wholesale. This follows the purchaser's contact category, so Funeral Home, Cemetery and Monument Company count as wholesale.
Date range: limits the view to orders created inside the window you select.
Order by: Newest first or Oldest first, by the date each order was created. It sets the order of the orders inside each cell, in the order list you open from a cell, in the Details names and on the printed sheet, so you can work through your memorials from the oldest onward and skip none.
Search: two characters or more, as described above.
Show empty rows: a checkbox to include or hide categories that have zero orders. Useful when you're comparing all your cemeteries at once and want to see which ones have no activity.
On a first visit the page opens grouped by Cemetery, showing Counts, with Details None, Order type All Types, Wholesale All, no date range, Order by Newest first, empty rows hidden and the table sorted by revenue highest first. Whatever you change is saved to your account, so it follows you to another computer. Reset filters puts everything back to those defaults.
The date range reads the order's creation date. The Dashboard's Business Intelligence Quoted vs Won metric is dated differently: it places each won deal in the period the order was confirmed, and each quote in the period the quote was written.
Printing the summary
Print sits in the page header, beside the Order Summary title. It prints exactly the rows on screen: Group by, Show, Details, Order type, Wholesale, Date range, Order by, Search and Show empty rows all carry through to the sheet, along with the column you sorted by. Print is part of the Pro plan, like the rest of the page.
When your filters leave no rows, Print is greyed out. Loosen a filter or click Reset filters and it comes back.
The sheet prints in landscape. The first column header matches your Group by choice, then your own pipeline stages in order, headers in uppercase and repeated on every page, ending in a Total column and a Total footer row. Grouped by County, every cemetery under a county prints as an indented row. In Revenue view each cell prints the money with the order count in parentheses, for example $12,400.00 (3). Roles without Can see prices always print counts.
With Details set to Purchaser or Decedent, every stage cell lists those names under the count, or under the revenue figure in Revenue view, in a smaller grey font and with duplicates removed inside the cell. Row totals and the Total footer stay numbers only. With Details set to None the sheet prints counts alone.
Under the Order Summary heading the sheet carries a subtitle reading "Grouped by <your grouping> · N rows · scope", where the scope spells out the filters that were on, for example: Aug 1, 2026 to Aug 31, 2026 · monument orders · wholesale only · search "Gibson". With no row filter active it reads "all orders". A start-only date range prints "from" and the date, an end-only range "through" and the date. With Details on, the subtitle ends in "· purchaser names" or "· decedent names".
Tip: Print opens your browser's print dialog, so choosing Save as PDF there gives you the summary as a PDF to email or file.
What to look for
The Order Summary is most useful for spotting where things are stuck. A large number in the Quote column tells you how much potential revenue is sitting in pipeline that hasn't been confirmed yet, meaning that's the money you may be leaving on the table. A large number in a production stage may mean a backlog. Looking at revenue per cemetery shows you where your top accounts are.
Tip: Switch between Revenue view and the default count view depending on the question. Counts answer "how many?" Revenue answers "how much?" Most weeks you'll use counts; for monthly business reviews, revenue is more informative.
