How to Set Up Order Deadline Alerts

Make order cards turn yellow, red, or overdue as the promise date approaches.

Make order cards change color as their promise date gets close, so the jobs that need attention stand out on the Order Management board. Set this up in Settings → Order Management → Order Deadline Alerts.

How the colors work

A card turns yellow when the promise date is inside your yellow window, red when it is inside your red window, and a deeper overdue red once the promise date has passed. When more than one applies, overdue beats red, and red beats yellow.

If a card is turning red for a deadline you never gave

A card only changes color when the order has a promise date on it. MonuDesk used to fill that date in by itself, using the last day of the install window, whether or not anyone had promised the family anything, and it put the date back on every save, so it could not be cleared.

That no longer happens. Saving a quote no longer copies the end of the install window into the promise date, and the +1, +2, +3 and +6 month quick-add buttons set the installation date range rather than the promise date. The field carries a small Last day of date range or Manual badge, so you can always see where the date on an order came from.

To take a promise date off an order you already have, open the order and click the small x on the promise date in the scheduling panel on the right, or clear it in Edit Order → Cemetery & Logistics. The removal sticks. The card goes back to its normal color as soon as the date is gone, and the empty slot shows a dashed Select promise date card you can click whenever you want to set a real one.

Setting your thresholds

Choose how many days out each warning starts:

  • Yellow alert defaults to 14 days before the promise date.

  • Red alert defaults to 7 days before the promise date.

Use the enable toggle to turn the colors on or off for the whole company. With the toggle off, every card keeps its normal background no matter how close the promise date is.
