Add your photo, update your name and phone, and set your own sign-out-after-inactivity choice in the Profile section at the top of Settings.

MonuDesk keeps your own preferences in their own Settings section. Profile sits at the very top of the Settings menu, first under the Account heading, above Company Profile. What you set here belongs to you, not to your company, so changing it changes nothing for anyone else on your team.

Opening plain Settings lands you on Company Profile, so click Profile in the menu on the left to get to it. A teammate whose role cannot open company settings, such as Field or Shop with their standard permissions, still has Settings in the sidebar (and under More on a phone), and it opens straight on Profile. The page is headed Profile Settings, "Manage your personal preferences.", and holds four cards: Profile Information, Theme, Notifications and Auto Sign-out. On a phone, a Log out button sits at the bottom of the page. MonuDesk's language is not a personal setting: it is set once for the whole company, under Settings > Company Profile > Language. Learn more: Using MonuDesk in English or German Your email signature is set under Settings > Conversations.

Profile Information: your photo, name and phone

The Profile Information card sits at the top of the page: "Update your personal information and contact details." It shows your photo, your name and your account status, then four fields: First Name, Last Name, Email and Phone.

  1. Add or change your photo. Click the round photo and pick a PNG or JPG under 5MB. It uploads and saves straight away, with no Save button.

  2. Change your name or phone. Edit First Name, Last Name or Phone and click Save changes. The button turns into a check and Saved for a moment, and the greeting at the top of MonuDesk shows the new name right away.

Every team member can save their own name, phone and photo here, whatever their role. Renaming yourself on Settings > Team works the same way.

Your photo is what your teammates see next to your name around MonuDesk: on the assignee chip of an order you own, in @-mentions and in notifications.

Email is shown for reference and cannot be edited on this card. To change the email on your account, contact support.

Theme: White, Blue or Dark

The Theme card sits under Profile Information: "Choose how MonuDesk looks on this device." Each option shows a small preview:

  • White: light pages. This is how MonuDesk starts.

  • Blue: dark navy pages with light text.

  • Dark: black pages with light text.

Click an option and MonuDesk changes to it straight away. There is no Save button.

Your theme is saved to your account, so it follows you to every computer, phone and browser you sign in on. It is a personal setting: each team member picks their own, and yours changes nothing for anyone else. The sign-in and sign-up pages always stay light.

Notifications: what reaches your phone

The Notifications card sits under Theme: "Choose what reaches your phone, and when. The bell in MonuDesk always shows everything." It controls the push notifications the MonuDesk iPhone app (version 1.0.1 or later) sends to your phone. It never changes the bell, which keeps every notification either way. Each change saves as you make it, and the settings are yours alone.

  • Push notifications: switch every push to your phone on or off.

  • Quiet hours: no pushes between the From and To times you pick. It starts switched off, set to 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Nothing held back is sent later, and the bell still has it all. The card names the time zone the times are in.

  • Push me about: one switch per kind of notification, such as Tasks (tasks assigned to you, and tasks checked off on your orders), Orders, Mentions, Drawings & approvals, Reminders and Partner / B2B. They all start on. Drawings & approvals also covers Drawing Reminders, the notification that a confirmed order still has no drawing.

Auto Sign-out: signing yourself out after a quiet spell

The Auto Sign-out card reads "Sign me out after a period of inactivity, the way banking and accounting tools do. Off by default." It is worth turning on if your computer sits on a counter, in the shop, or anywhere a visitor could walk past an open order.

  1. Go to Settings > Profile.

  2. On the Auto Sign-out card, open the Sign me out dropdown. It starts on Never (stay signed in), which is the default: you stay signed in until you sign out yourself.

  3. Choose After 1 day to be signed out after a day of inactivity.

The choice saves the moment you pick it, with no Save button and no message. To switch it off again, set the dropdown back to Never (stay signed in).

What inactivity means. MonuDesk counts a click, a key press or a scroll as activity, and activity in any open MonuDesk tab counts, so a quote left open in a second tab does not run the clock down while you work in the first. When the whole period passes with none of that, you are signed out and returned to the login screen. Sign in again and pick up where you were; nothing you saved is affected.

Note: This setting is personal. It is stored on your own account and follows you to every computer and browser you sign in on. Each person on your team sets their own, and yours has no effect on theirs.

Logging out on a phone

On a phone, in the MonuDesk iPhone app or in your phone's browser, Settings (under More) opens as a full page with a back arrow at the top left. Open Profile, scroll to the bottom and tap Log out. You are signed out and taken to the login page. In the iPhone app, logging out also stops your notifications on that phone until you sign in again.

On a computer, Settings opens as a popup and Profile ends with Auto Sign-out. To log out there, click your avatar at the top right and choose Log out.

Where your email signature lives

Your personal email signature, the sign-off added to messages you send from Conversations, is set under Settings > Conversations in the Email Signature row. See the related article below for the steps.
