Orders for Customer Pickup (No Cemetery)

Mark an order as customer pickup, and see what changes in the wizard, on the board, in scheduling and on the paperwork.

Most orders end at a cemetery, and MonuDesk assumes that. Some do not: the family collects the stone from you and sets it themselves. Customer pickup is how you say that on the order, in one click, instead of leaving the cemetery blank.

Marking an order as customer pickup changes what MonuDesk asks you for, how the order reads on the board and in Insights, and what prints on the paperwork. Every new order starts as a cemetery installation, so pickup is always something you choose.

Turning customer pickup on

  1. Open the order in New Quote, Edit Quote or Edit Order and go to step 2, Cemetery & Logistics.

  2. In the Cemetery & Plot Details card, find the Cemetery field. To the right of it sit two buttons: Add New, and a small package icon. Hover the package icon and the tooltip reads "Customer pickup: no cemetery, the customer collects the stone."

  3. Click the package button. It fills in solid, the Cemetery field shows Pickup, and the tooltip changes to "Customer pickup is on. Click again or pick a cemetery to turn it off."

  4. Save the wizard the way you normally would.

What the click clears, straight away:

  • Any cemetery already chosen on the order.

  • The cemetery fee selections that came with that cemetery, so no cemetery fee is left sitting on the total.

The map pin and the plot section collapse, since there is no cemetery to pin or to record a section, lot and space in. Plot and decedent details you already entered are kept, and the Scheduling card lower down the step stays available.

The right-hand summary answers immediately: a Delivery card headed Pickup appears, reading "The customer collects this stone. No cemetery involved."

Note: The choice is stored when the wizard is saved, by Save as Quote, Save as Confirmed Order, the unsaved-changes draft save, or Update Quote / Update Order. Cancelling the wizard leaves the order as it was. A pickup order is saved with no cemetery attached, and re-opening it shows Pickup in the Cemetery field.

Turning it off

Three ways, all on the same step:

  • Click the package button again.

  • Pick a real cemetery from the Cemetery dropdown. A cemetery always wins over pickup.

  • Clear the Pickup value out of the field.

The order goes back to being a cemetery installation, and the cemetery, plot and map fields come back with it.

Where pickup shows afterwards

Order Overview. The right column carries a Delivery card headed Pickup, in the place the Installation Location cemetery card would normally sit, reading "The customer collects this stone. No cemetery involved." Orders with a cemetery keep the Installation Location card.

Order cards on the board. Where a card would show its Cemetery row, a pickup order shows a Delivery row reading Customer Pickup. It is plain text, not a link, because there is no cemetery record to open.

Card Display. Settings → Card Display also offers an optional Delivery method row, off by default. Switch it on, drag it into position and click Save changes, and every card shows a Delivery line reading either "Cemetery" or "Customer Pickup".

Group by cemeteries. Set the board's column sort to Group by cemeteries and pickup orders gather under their own Customer Pickup heading instead of scattering.

The Filters panel. The Cemetery list carries a pinned option, No cemetery (pickup / ship), which matches pickup orders. It is selectable only when you actually have orders like that. Installations that simply have not had a cemetery chosen are not in it.

Insights → Installations, a Pro feature. Grouped by Cemetery, pickup orders sit under their own Customer Pickup heading, and the cemetery column on the row reads Customer Pickup. That label follows onto the printed sheet from the Table view and onto the CSV export. The row's Schedule Install button works normally.

Scheduling a pickup order

A pickup order still needs a date, and nothing holds it back. On the Order Overview the Scheduling card shows the usual dashed Click to schedule row, so you can book the day right away. The No cemetery assigned and Missing plot info holds apply to cemetery installations only, so they never appear here.

The Install scheduling dialog opens on the normal fields. Because there is no cemetery to name, its subtitle reads "Schedule the crew's install for this order." and no missing-cemetery warning is shown.

One difference once the order is confirmed: MonuDesk does not add an Installation task to a pickup order, since nobody is setting the stone at a cemetery. Every other task on the order is created as usual.

What changes on the paperwork

Invoice and Receipt. The header row that normally reads "Cemetery" reads Delivery: Customer Pickup, and the Section / Lot / Space line is left off.

Shop Ticket. The left-hand details column prints a Delivery Method row reading "Customer Pickup", with no cemetery rows and no cemetery map. The Deliver To block reads "Customer Pickup" followed by your office name (your company name when the order has no office), with that office's address and phone, so the shop floor knows where to stage the stone for collection.

Quote and Contract. Unchanged. Neither prints a cemetery row in the first place.

Foundation orders. These are for cemetery installations only. On a pickup order Generate Foundation Order is greyed out. If the order does need one, add a cemetery on step 2 and it becomes available.

Cemetery fees

A cemetery's fees belong to the cemetery. Switching an order to customer pickup clears the fee selections along with the cemetery, and on save the cemetery fee comes off the subtotal, the total and the balance, so nothing is left billing for a cemetery the stone is not going to.
