MonuPay is the built-in way to take card payments from your customers, right inside MonuDesk. Your customer pays by card from their Customer Portal, and the payment drops straight into the order for you. You set it up in Settings, Integrations.
MonuPay is optional. You never have to turn it on. You can always record a payment by hand, whether it came in as cash, a check, or a card you ran on your own terminal (see How to Log a Payment). MonuPay just takes the manual step off your plate.
Why shops love it
Customers pay themselves. Families get a Pay Now button in their Customer Portal and pay by card, or with Apple Pay on supported devices, on their own time. No phone tag, no waiting on a check in the mail.
Payments match themselves. When a customer pays, the payment lands in MonuDesk already attached to the right order, and the balance updates on its own. There is nothing to type in.
Money moves faster. Card payments settle to your account without a trip to the bank, so you spend less time on deposits and less time chasing balances.
MonuPay or record it by hand
Recording a payment by hand always works, and it is the right call for cash and checks (see How to Log a Payment). The only real difference is who does the typing. With manual entry, you open the order and log each payment yourself. With MonuPay, the customer pays and MonuDesk logs it for you. Plenty of shops use both: MonuPay for cards, manual entry for cash and checks.
Getting started
MonuPay is powered by our payments partner, PayFactory. You fill out a short merchant application once, and then the Pay Now option turns on in your customers' portals (see Setting Up MonuPay (Merchant Application)).
