Connecting Your Mailbox (Gmail & Outlook)
Connect a Gmail or Outlook account to MonuDesk: the OAuth flow, naming your mailbox, the 30-day import, and connecting multiple mailboxes by shop location.

Conversations is MonuDesk's built-in email inbox. Find it in the left sidebar under Conversations (between Inventory and Order Summary). Before you can read or reply to email, you'll connect a Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account. Here's how.

Connecting Gmail or Outlook
The first time you open Conversations without a mailbox connected, you're greeted by a welcome screen where you can get started.
Click Google Gmail or Microsoft Outlook.
You'll be sent to Google or Microsoft to sign in and grant MonuDesk access to your mailbox.
After you approve, you're redirected back to MonuDesk automatically.
Note: MonuDesk only stores a secure connection token from your provider, never your email password.
Naming your mailbox
As soon as you're back, a Name this mailbox dialog opens. Give it a short, recognizable label (up to 60 characters) such as Sales or info@yourshop.com. This name is what you'll see in the mailbox switcher and on each conversation, so pick something your team will recognize at a glance.
The first 30 days of email
A brand-new mailbox starts in a Syncing state while MonuDesk imports your recent email. You'll see a toast confirming it's "importing the last 30 days of email, and threads appear as they sync."
Threads appear progressively as they're pulled in, so the inbox fills up over a few moments rather than all at once.
Only the last 30 days is backfilled. Older email is not imported.
Once the import finishes, the mailbox switches to Connected and keeps syncing new mail going forward.

Connecting multiple mailboxes
You can now connect more than three inboxes, organized by shop location, so each location can keep its own mailboxes. You can also sync both your MonuDesk and your personal email accounts in the same place. To add another after your first, open the mailbox switcher at the top of the inbox and choose Connect another mailbox.
Disconnecting a mailbox keeps its existing conversations readable.
Where your connection lives
Your connected mailboxes live in the mailbox switcher at the top of the Conversations inbox. Click it to:
Switch between mailboxes, or pick All inboxes to see everything in one list.
Open the manage (⋮) menu to rename, share, or disconnect a mailbox.
Click Connect another mailbox to add one.
A couple of related settings live elsewhere: email templates are under Settings → Conversations, and your personal signature is under Settings → Profile.
SMTP / IMAP (coming soon)
Today you can connect Gmail and Microsoft Outlook. A generic SMTP / IMAP option appears on the connect screen but is disabled, with a "Coming soon" tooltip, and support for other providers is on the way.
